She married Guiseppe Scandaliato in Terrasini, Sicily on 10 Feb 1907 He was born in Terrasini Sicly on 08 Aug 1882 he died in Detroit on 02 May 1944 He is buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery Section 24, Lot 904 Space 1. His parents are Guiseppe Scandaliato and Caterina Demercurio
I can find out very little about Guiseppe, I know he came to America in sometime in or before 1910. Maria came to America with her family, arrived at Ellis Island on May 31st 1910 age 28 aboard the S.S. Europa She states she is going to her husband in Saint Louis, MO. I can not find any record of them living in St. Louis. They do not show up in the census records.
I can find them in the 1940 Census living in Detroit at 2602 Beniteau Street, Detroit City, Wayne. Maria (Mary) and Guiseppe (Joseph) live with their daughters L. Rosa and Josephine. The name is spelled “Scandaliatis” on the Census.
